Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: But a good word maketh it glad. Proverbs 12:25, KJV
We all experience hardship, stress, and worry. This verse shows that negative emotions can paralyse us and even affect us physically and mentally. But God gives us an alternative: a kind word. Words have incredible power. A positive, encouraging, or supportive word can change someone’s day and restore hope where there was despair.
Applying this principle means being intentional about how we speak to others. A small gesture of kindness, a smile, or an encouraging remark can brighten someone’s day. God invites us to use his love through our words.
When we pray for others, encourage them, or simply listen, we help them carry the burden of worry. This not only supports their well-being, but it also builds our own character and compassion.
God wants us to be instruments of comfort and joy. In a world full of negativity, our kind words can be the light that lifts hearts and inspires people to keep going or move forward again.
Prayer: Lord, help me to use kind and encouraging words. Let my speech offer life and hope to those who need it. Amen.
